A SECRET society is throwing open its doors so members of the public can glimpse the age-old mysteries of their organisation.

The Masonic Hall, on Hope Street, normally serves as a meeting place for groups of Freemasons, to hold ceremonies, dine and socialise.

The organisation is renowned for private rituals, but Sam Robinson, who meets at the hall regularly, said Freemasonry was opening up and bringing itself into the 21st century.

He said: “We held an open day last year and gave people tours of the building. A lot of people thought they weren’t allowed in a hall, but they came and saw what we had to offer.”

The Grade II listed building, described as “a hidden gem” by Mr Robinson, contains dozens of rooms of various sizes.

Mr Robinson said the image of Freemasonry as being about funny handshakes and cosy business deals was something the organisation was keen to shake off.

Mr Robinson added: “Our location, between the cathedrals, is on one of the most popular tourist routes in the city, and we want to make tourists here feel welcome.

“We’d like to open up for tea and coffee and other refreshments and offer people a tour round.

“We want to make the wonderful facilities we have here available to the community – one of our aims is to become more involved in the life of the city.”

The Masonic Hall could be used for everything from big weddings to a meeting and dinner destination for a handful of people.

Anybody who wants to use the hall should contact the manager, Dave Woodward, either on 0151 709 2506 or by email at l.masonic.hall@btconnect.com to discuss prices and arrangements.

Liverpool Time Slip & Ley Lines

Most cultures have traditions and words to describe the straight, often geometric alignments that ran across ancient landscapes, connecting both natural and sacred prehistoric structures together. Usually the names given to represent these invisible lines are translated to an equivalent of 'spirit', 'dream', or 'energy' paths. However, apart from the physical presence of the sites themselves, proving the presence of a 'connection' between them is something that researchers have found notoriously elusive.
Amongst the widely differing (and often simplistic) theories that attempt to explain why ley-lines and landscape alignments first appeared, the following theories probably say as much about us now as at any time in the past, yet we are bound to acknowledge and respect the following writers opinions and conclusions as 'they', the following few, are the giants upon whose shoulders this field of  study current sits:

   The Definition of a Ley-line:

Even though the term 'Ley-line was originally conceived  by Alfred 'Watkins, by 1929, he had discarded the use of the name 'ley' and referred to his alignments only as 'old straight tracks' or 'archaic tracks'
"It is quite useless looking for existing fragments, however old, of roads which may remain from the first track, although, as we shall see, some bits may form useful indications of its site. The changes from early days have been so many in the matter of roads. We must therefore clear our minds, not only of what we think of roads, even Roman ones, but of our surmises, and begin again." -  Alfred Watkins (4)
  • The current definition of a Ley-line according to http//:Wikipedia.en.org/ is as follows:
'Ley lines are hypothetical alignments of a number of places of geographical interest, such as ancient monuments and megaliths. Their existence was suggested in 1921 by the amateur archaeologist Alfred Watkins, whose book 'The Old Straight Track' brought the alignments to the attention of the wider public'.
This explanation by no means completes the modern definition of a ley-line, as we cannot say for example that all alignments of stones are ley-lines, however old they are. Nor does it follow that all ancient sites were aligned deliberately, even those that appear to have been.
Alfred Watkins, the modern founding father on the subject, created the first basic set of guidelines in order to describe ley-lines according to his perception. As we have learned more about ley lines, so we have had to adapt these original guidelines in order to explain our findings, whilst keeping to the context with Watkins' original ideas.
  • Ley-Markers:
The following natural and man-made features were suggested by Watkins to be reliable ley-markers:
Mounds, Long-barrows, Cairns, Cursus, Dolmens, Standing stones, mark-stones, Stone circles, Henges, Water-markers (moats, ponds, springs, fords, wells), Castle, Beacon-hills, Churches, Cross-roads, Notches in hills, Camps (Hill-forts),
Any true Watkinsian ley requires it to have a start (or finish) point in the shape of a hill. (4)
From map and fieldwork, Paul Deveraux concluded that all Henges are likely to indicate the presence of a Ley. (2)
We can therefore begin to gauge the strength of a ley-line according to its length, accuracy of deviation, number of ley-markers and their individual significance. We can also separate ley lines into basic categories such as astronomical, funerary, geometric etc, as the following examples illustrate:

Time is the perfect murderer. Every day it indiscriminately kills around 40,000 individuals worldwide. Rich and poor, black and white; all succumb to time's insidious erosion of their bodies and minds, and it seems as if there isn't a thing we can do to stop its merciless onslaught. People often talk of killing time, but ironically it's the other way round.
If only it were possible to hinder the passage of time; then we could extend our transient lifespans. The Roman writer Horace succinctly summed up our mortal predicament in a sentence over a thousand years ago: "Life's short span forbids us embarking on far-reaching hopes."
To stop the clock and live indefinitely has been a recurring dream throughout the history of mankind, but will the fantasy ever become a reality? It is the author's belief that the flow of time can be controlled, and that, incredible as it seems, various individuals have inadvertently moved backwards and forwards through the 'fourth dimension' the official scientific description of time. These timewalkers will be looked at in some detail later, but first let us take a cursory look at the nature of time from a scientific viewpoint.
What we call time is still something of a mystery. Until the German mathematical physicist Albert Einstein (1879-1955) came along, scientists regarded time as an absolute, universal unchanging something that flowed steadily on in one direction like a might river; from the past to the future. Einstein proved that this was simply not the case at all. Long before experiments verified that his reasoning was correct, Einstein told the sceptical scientific community of his day that time was elastic, reversible, and actually ran at different rates in different areas of the universe, which made a mockery of the traditional notions of time laid down by the English scientist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727). Einstein said something revolutionary that seemed nonsensical initially; that objects which are moving age slower compared to stationary objects. As an example, imagine there are identical twins. One of them climbs aboard a rocket which takes off from Earth and begins a five-year space voyage at a speed very close to light's velocity (which is 186,281 miles per second). When the astronaut returns to Earth, he would find that his terrestrial twin is now 50 years older than him!
Einstein's incredible theory of time-dilation has now been proved in many ways. If we had two highly-accurate atomic clocks, and we placed one at an airport and one in Concorde and flew it to New York and back, we would find that the readouts from the two clocks would be different when they were subsequently compared, because the clock on Concorde would have ticked slower than the stationary clock in the airport. Time-dilation has also been observed in sub-atomic particle such as the muon, which decays on average after 2.2 microseconds. These particles are created when cosmic rays enter the upper atmosphere, and are so short-lived, they ought not to persist for long enough to reach the Earth's surface, but they do, because they are moving so fast that their time-scale, relative to ours, is slowed down.
If you are still not convinced that there is more to time than meets the eye, you should go out on a cloudless, moonless night and look up at the stars, and you will be participating in a type of time-travel yourself, because you will be seeing the stars as they were many years ago. If you see a faint fuzzy patch of luminosity to the upper left of the Pegasus constellation, you will be looking at the Andromeda Galaxy, which is the nearest galaxy to ours. But you will not be seeing this galaxy as it is, but as it was 2.2 million years ago, because it is so far away, the light from it takes that long to reach your eyes here on Earth. In other words, you will be looking back into the remote past when you look up into the sky. Astronomers recently announced that a cluster of galaxies known as Abell 2065 had been discovered in the Corona Borealis constellation that were a billion light years away, and that the light from these remote stellar objects had started its journey to their telescopes around the time mankind was (supposedly) beginning to evolve from the primordial sludge on Earth.
The following story is an account of a man who inadvertently strolled into the past early in July 1996 in Liverpool City Centre.

Shop in another dimension - Cripps of Bold Street, Liverpool, in 1955

Frank, an off-duty policeman from Melling, and his wife Carol, were in Liverpool one Saturday afternoon shopping. At Central Station, the couple split up. Carol went to Dillons Bookshop in Bold Street to purchase a copy of Irvine Welsh's book, Trainspotting, and Frank went to a record store in Ranelagh Street to look for a CD. About twenty minutes later he walked up the incline near the Lyceum which leads out to Bold Street, intending to meet up with his wife in the bookshop, when he suddenly noticed he had somehow entered an oasis of quietness. Suddenly, a small boxvan that looked like something out the 1950s sped across his path, beeping as it narrowly missed him. Frank noted that the van had the name 'Caplan's' emblazoned on its side. When the policeman looked down, he noticed that he was standing in the road, and immediate thought that was strange, because the last time he had seen the bottom of Bold Street, it had been pedestrianized. Frank crossed the road and saw that Dillons Bookshop was no longer there. In its place stood a store with the name 'Cripps' over its two entrances. The policeman was understandably confused. He looked in the window of Cripps and saw no books on display, but womens' handbags and shoes. The policeman turned around and saw that the people were wearing clothes that would have been worn in the Forties and Fifties, and this really unnerved him. He realised that he had somehow walked into the Bold Street of forty-odd years ago. Suddenly, Frank sighted a girl of about twenty, dressed in the clothes of a mid-1990s girl; hipsters and a lime-coloured sleeveless top. The bag she carried had the name Miss Selfridges on it, which really reassured the policeman that he was still somehow partly in 1996. It was a paradox, but the policeman was slightly relieved, and he smiled at the girl as she walked past him and entered Cripps. As he followed her, the whole interior of the building changed in a flash to the interior of Dillons Bookshop. The policeman was back in his own time. He grabbed the girl by the arm at the entrance of the bookshop and asked her: "Did you see that then?" and the girl calmly said, "Yeah. I thought it was a new shop that had opened. I was going in to look at the clothes, and it's a bookshop."
The girl just laughed, shook her head, and walked out again. Frank said the girl looked back and shook her head in disbelief. When he told his wife about the incident, she said that she had not noticed anything strange, but Frank was really adamant that he had not hallucinated the episode.
I gave an account of this strange timeslip on the Billy Butler show, and within minutes, people were ringing me and Billy at Radio City to tell us that in the late 1950s and early 1960s there had been a store called Cripps in the exact location where Dillons Bookshop now stands, and there had also been a firm called Caplan's in existence around the same time. What's more, I also received letters and phone calls from listeners who had also experienced strange things in the part of Bold Street where the policeman stepped into another era. A man who worked on the renovation of the Lyceum building in Bold Street said his digital watch went backwards for two hours one day, and on another occasion, he put down his safety helmet, and when he looked down literally seconds later, it had vanished, yet no one was within fifty feet of him.
A Radio City listener named Emma Black sent me a fascinating cutting from a 1970s magazine concerning a timeslip which apparently allowed a telephone conversation to take place between two people spaced thirty years apart. The following summary of this strange story may seem like an episode of The Twilight Zone, but I have heard of three other similar cases. An old woman named Alma Bristow of Bidston, Birkenhead, tried to phone her sister (who had recently lost her husband) in Frodsham, Cheshire. Alma always had difficulty dialling numbers on the old British Telecom analogue telephone because she had stabbing arthritis in her fingers. Alma had evidently misdialled her sister's number, as a man's voice answered. The man said "Captain Hamilton."
Alma asked if her sister was there, but 'Captain' Hamilton replied haughtily, "This is not a civilian number. Who are you?"
Alma gave her name, and as she did, she heard a sound at the other end of the phone that she hadn't heard since she was a young woman: an air raid siren kicking. "Sound like World War Two there." Alma joked.
There was a pause, then Captain Hamilton replied, "What are you talking about?"
"The air-raid siren. Sounds like the war's still on." Alma said, about to hang up.
"Of course the war's still on. Where did you get my number from?" said Hamilton.
"The war ended years ago, in 1945." said Alma, suspecting she was a victim of the Candid Camera Show.
Captain Hamilton was heard to whisper to an associate, then resumed the surreal conversation. "It isn't 1945 yet. If we trace you you'll be thrown into prison for this lark you know? You're wasting valuable time woman."
"Eh? It's 1974. The war's been over for years." Alma retorted, and then she heard the unmistakable rumble of bombing coming over the phone.
"We'll deal with you later don't worry." said Captain Hamilton, and he slammed the phone down. Alma listened eagerly for him to pick up the handset of his telephone, but Hamilton never did. Alma never knew if she had been the victim of an elaborate hoax, or whether she had really had talked with someone in wartime Britain.

The two previous stories about timeslips suggest that the events of the past are still going on somewhere along the fourth dimension. Isn't it ironic how the clock rules all our lives, yet we know virtually nothing about time? Our ignorance regarding the nature of time reminds me of a thought-provoking remark Einstein once made. He said: "What does a fish know about the water in which he swims all his life?"

2012

About December 21st, 2012

2012 is not like Y2K by any means. Y2K was a possible glitch in electronics systems caused by a date problem with computers.

At no time in the history of mankind has there been a convergence on a single date and year by so many people, religions, soothsayers, psychics and scientists.

Here, we will explore some of the relevance of the possible events that will occur on December 21st, 2012.

Keep in mind that these are only possibilities. We have a hard enough time predicting the weather a week out, let alone events years in the future. However, there are several coinciding and factual arguments that point to 2012 as being a time of earth and life changing events. You can be a skeptic or believer - that's entirely up to you. I'm just going to touch on things here that you can follow up on and research further if you like.

Galactic Alignment

The Galactic Alignment that we will see in 2012 happens once every 26000 years. This is a point where the Sun reaches the Dark Rift - the center of the galaxy. Astronomers refer to this as the Nuclear Bulge.

This is a major event according to NASA and scientists around the world. The Sun's solar cycle will peak in 2012. There could be massive problems associated with the Galactic Alignment.

Things that scientists are concerned about are very real events. A solar flare could cause a pole shift. This would wreak severe havoc with the Earth, her crust, gravity and all forms of life here.

The last time that the Yellowstone Caldera erupted was around the time of one of these alignments some 640,000 years ago. This is a doomsday event in itself.

Asteroids could be pulled into our path. This is because of the path the Earth will be on, in association to the solar system around 2012.

Massive earthquakes would be an added event to a pole shift. The Earth's crust would shift causing these and Tsunamis around the globe (or what's left of the globe).

Another Ice Age is possible, because of the Sun and it's activity in 2012. All in all, from a scientific standpoint, 2012 is not looking good for we tiny humans.

The Mayan Calendar Ends

The Maya were an intelligent race of people in South America who built pyramids and structures, much like the Egyptians. They had an intense knowledge of time cycles, astronomy and astrology and mathematics (they came up with "zero"). Some of the things that they knew over 2000 years ago, we are just beginning to figure out today.

The Mayan Calendar is far more accurate than the Gregorian Calendar that we use on a daily basis. The Mayan's knowledge of solar cycles, planets and space was astounding. They are also the race that had stone carvings of what appeared to be spacemen with helmets and spaceships. They also had the Crystal Skulls. These skulls were humanlike skulls fabricated from crystal. To this day, we still do not have the technology to make these with the precision of the Maya.

The Maya disappeared. Where they went is still being debated. From some archeological finds, it appears that they dropped whatever they were carrying and vanished. Beam me up Scotty...

Whether the Maya were all abducted to outer space or not, one thing is for sure; their calendar, the most accurate in history, ends on December 21st, 2012...

Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce, "The Sleeping Prophet", had references to 2012. His accuracy has been phenomenal with predictions. To make a long story short, the map below is a depiction of what Cayce said the USA would look like after 2012...

Nostradamus

Low and behold...Nostradamus had cataclysmic Earth shaking catastrophes lined up in his quatrains. Although not specific to the exact date, the events Nostradamus had predicted line up with 2012 "speculated" happenings. The events are similar to Revelations from the Bible, he said that "the Earth will shake and no structure shall be left standing."

The Bible Code

For those of you following along with the Bible Code, the code specifically spells out Earth Annihilation for 2012. The code is arranged in patterns that supposedly reveal events. Skeptics say that you can arrange anything to say what you want it to. They have a point. The other side of the coin is, the code has been dead on in many instances.

Planet - X

Planet - X is a dwarf star associated with our solar system. In 2012, some astronomers believe that Planet - X will either hit the Earth or come close enough to cause major damage from the asteroids that surround it. It could even cause gravity to fail.

The Hopi Blue Star Prophecy

Although no specific date is matched to 2012 specifically, the Hopi Indians believe that a new cycle will bring man from animal into true human form. The nine signs of this prophecy have been met. Much like the metaphysical views, there will be a spiritual war that will change all as we know it.

Psychic View

Many believe that December 21st, 2012 will be a massive shift of global conciseness to a higher level. Currently, humans are still tribal and primitive by nature. We run around chasing gold, money and earthly possessions, much like the cavemen did with fire.

Most people feel the thickness and dread in the air already. 2012 may be when the human race globally says "enough" and we all transform to "something else" on a higher spiritual realm.

Gloom and Doom? The other things that "could" happen like nuclear holocaust, the coming of Aliens etc., haven't been included here. Who knows about those things or any of it for that matter. Don't get too bent out of shape. People have been predicting the end of time since the beginning of time.

Just keep your 2012 Doomsday Countdown App handy. We'll all see for ourselves in a short time what 2012 will really bring...
